Christmas in New York
|
Every Labor Day, my Italian Aunt Marie would announce that "Christmas is right around the corner!" Of course, we all chuckled, and of course she was right! And before you know it, the holidays will be here and what better place to visit than NYC during December? The city is decked out with holiday lights, the giant department stores have dazzling displays, and the huge Christmas Tree glitters above the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center. Lincoln Center showcases the world famous NYC Ballet production of The Nutcracker, NY Philharmonic'c Handel's "Messiah" and the Big Apple Circus pitches its tent next to the Metropolitan Opera. 'Tis the season for giving and your incentive guests will be greatly awarded if you offer them a fantastic "Christmas in New York" program. And don't forget, even our "stoplights blink a bright red and green." -- Tony Napoli

If you were to imagine a magical night in New York City during Christmas time, what would it be? Would it include your very own private skating rink? If you want to impress your clients, you can dine at the classic Rock Center Café or enjoy the delectable seafood prepared by world-renowned chef Ed Brown at the Rock Center Sea Grill. Then proceed to your private rink and skate the night away under the stars. To end this spectacular night, hot chocolate and cookies await you. -- Dorian Cattani

Located within beautiful Central Park (at Sheep Meadow), the trees and gardens are decorated with thousands of twinkling lights creating a winter wonderland. The private rooms are also fantastically decorated with crystal chandeliers, shiny brass and colorful stained glass. Dancing nutcrackers, flying trapeze artists, Ebenezer Scrooge, and the Rockettes can only mean one thing…it’s Christmas time in New York! Get into the spirit with a visit to one of our annual holiday shows like the New York City Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker, Madison Square Garden’s timeless favorite A Christmas Carol or check out the Big Apple Circus’s new show Carnivale. Of course what better way to celebrate the holidays than with a trip to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. This year the show kicks off with an all-new film (in 3-D) in which Santa and his reindeer take the audience on a magical sleigh ride through New York City. These classic favorites continue to delight audiences year after year. -- Tom Borchard
