Briggs New Digs
|
"Broadway! Broadway!" - a name redolent of the sights, sounds and heartbeat of New York City. And now in our new offices, Briggs is truly on Broadway! Our new digs face directly onto Times Square. Huge picture windows look down and over the swirling masses of tourists, gigantic neon lights, Toys R Us and the MTV and Good Morning America studios. We are still in the historic Paramount Building, home to the original eponymous film company and the famous theatre where Frank Sinatra made the bobbysoxers swoon. We can't wait to watch the Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade and count down the seconds to 2004 while watching the New Year's Eve ball drop! So if you're ever in town, please drop by and enjoy the view with us! -- Tony Napoli

Broadway Bound
|
"When a Broadway baby says goodnight, it's early in the morning!" You can rest your head on Broadway and get a good night's sleep at one of the premier hotels nestled there. The newest babe is the 5 star Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Columbus Circle with breathtaking vistas of Central Park. For dynamic Times Square views in the theatre district, try the Marriott Marquis and The Renaissance Hotels. And the Crown Plaza is a great place to view the Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade from one of their newly renovated rooms.

Broadway is the most famous street in the world running 17 miles from "Battery Park way up to Washington Heights!" One of our most popular tours is "Broadway Bound", a historical and fascinating trek up through Manhattan via Broadway - starting at the Staten Island Ferry, then on to Wall Street, City Hall, SoHo, the Flatiron Building, Macy*s, Times Square (and Briggs World Headquarters), Central Park, Lincoln Center, Columbia Universtity, Audubon Terrace to the Cloisters! So join us on a NYC journey as Broadway winds its way through myriad neighborhoods, ethnic populations, diverse architecture, shopping and entertainment venues.

If your guests love Broadway and you want to give them an inside look into the history and grandeur of the theatre, treat them to an exclusive, open house walking tour of Manhattan's Theatre District. Your guests will visit different Broadway playhouses, including exclusive access to at least two theatre interiors. It's a side of Broadway the general public seldom gets to see - and you might catch a few minutes of rehearsal. Guides spotlight architectural details of these land marked edifices, providing an insider's perspective on how a theatrical production is put together.
Tie in a special day of theatre with a "Meet the Cast" dessert party. Give your guests the opportunity to get up close and personal! They can mingle, ask questions and take photos with cast members from the Broadway hit they've just seen. -- Stephanie Margulies

2004 is rapidly approaching and with it an exciting new season of Broadway shows. Little Shop of Horrors, is a satiric, campy musical about a man-eating plant. The Boy From Oz starring Hugh Jackman is a musical about the late entertainer/songwriter Peter Allen, who was a protege of Judy Garland and was briefly married to Liza Minnelli. Wicked is the untold story of rivalry and deceit between the witches of The Wizard of Oz. In November Taboo opens, the London musical produced by Rosie O'Donnell about the life of 80's pop star Boy George. In December, we have the opening of Never Gonna Dance, a new musical based on the Astaire-Rogers film "Swing Time". And in February, don't miss the revival of Fiddler on the Roof, the classic musical about a Jewish father and his troublesome daughters. -- Tom Borchard
