Why New York Now?    A penny saved...

YNY NOW? “Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country” Remember typing that old phrase over and over in class? Well now is the time to come to New York. Now is the time to come to New York. For the first time in years the city is affordable. For the first time in years the city is affordable. Hotel rates are down and value is up. Hotel rates are down and value is up. The city is the perfect place for an incentive/meeting. We are a world-class business destination with no palm trees or swimming pools.(well, there are palm trees in the... Winter Garden and the Hudson River is now safe for swimming!). We are NOT a resort which makes New York is a smart choice for a business meeting or incentive trip still offering numerous leisure activities to enhance free time. Throw in cost savings and we have the ideal mix to justify any procurement department. YNY? Enjoy this special edition with Briggs as your advisor and trusted partner.

Room in the Inn    "You can get here from there"

YNY NOW? Last year at this time 4/5star hotels were charging $400 - $750 per night if you could find space with F&B requirements, strict cancellation clauses and stringent attrition. Wow, how times have changed! With assistance from Briggs, incentive guests can sleep in fiscal guiltless slumber from $200 to $400 per night. With our long time relationships, we can bring down attrition, manage minimum F&B requirements and negotiate a cancellation policy that you can feel comfortable with. For example, some hotels are providing generous concessions: if you cancel a signed program this year, you can rebook it in 2010 with no cancellation fees. And did you know NYC has one of the lowest hotel taxes in the country? We are not even in the top 20! This is the year – there is room in the inn to book a group - even at last minute.

YNY NOW? From Chicago (for example), it is cheaper to fly to New York City than to Hawaii Orlando or London. Every carrier offers many flights a day into one of our three major airports. In other words, your guests have many choices when they fly here taking advantage of group rates or frequent flyer miles. No need for rental cars when you can hail a cab at any time of the day or night. There are fixed prices to the airports and we have the cheapest taxi rates in the country and Europe. And this is a walking city so right outside your hotel door are plenty of choices for dinners, events and galas. What other city offers transportation options that include ferries, horse and carriages, pedicabs, subways, bicycles, trolleys, roller blades, sedans, limousines, monorail, cable cars, long distance trains, double-decker buses and good old fashioned sustainable shoe leather.?

Dining on Dollars   NYC on a Dime

YNY NOW? You don’t have to spend $200 per person to have an excellent dinner in NYC. With over 5,000 restaurants and seemingly as many cuisines, diners can enjoy world-class food at a price point to fit every budget. An excellent three-course dinner can be enjoyed at $50 per person plus wine at a very attractive establishment and we are not talking The Olive Garden. Even four-star upscale establishments are offering reasonably priced prix fixe menus with many choices. Some are even offer a complimentary glass of wine. And what’s more delicious than an H&H bagel piping hot from the oven or a triple-decker Pastrami Sandwich on Rye from one of our many authentic delis. Briggs can book you an epicurean delight that won’t break the bank.

YNY NOW? There is so much to do for free in NYC that you would spend all your time trying to figure out your day. Walking through Central Park and the different neighborhoods is like traveling around the world in 60 minutes. Museums offer free evenings and every day there are free concerts: out of doors, on plazas and in churches. Arts and crafts can be found at the many weekend street festivals. And major tourist sites are free of charge including Shakespeare in the Park, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and a ride on the Staten Island Ferry. While not free Briggs can arrange good discount Broadway theatre tickets for weekday performances to shows such as Disney’s The Lion King. And the best theatre of all? Free People watching!!
