Two Men & A Cowboy at IT&ME

"Is a Puzzlement!" - October is the 10th month of the year but the root of October means 8 (8th month in the Roman Calendar)! In Greenwich Village, West 8th Street crosses West 11th Street (old cow paths and Indian trails). The second floor of "21" Club is on the first floor (European floor plan). At Briggs, conundrums like these keep us awake at night. But "God is in the details" and we are proud and obsessive about those details. It's escorting our guests to the right floor at "21" Club, having our motorcoach waiting at the correct intersection of West 4th and 11th Streets and knowing that October follows September (LOL) that makes for a perfect program. Seemingly trivial items can make a big, big difference in the success of a program. No tricks in October for you, only treats.

Every one loves a bargain! I once spotted Greta Garbo ducking into Klein's! We savvy New Yorkers know where to find a Jimmy Choo shoe or a designer knockoff bag. The value-packed Big Apple Bargains Tour reveals all our discount haunts including Century 21, where it's always bustling, and names are the game. At this downtown staple, you'll love pawing through the hodgepodge racks of designer items (priced a lot lower than when they first hit stores). Guests will also visit Canal Street with a special stop at Pearl River Mart, a Chinatown institution for more than 30 years, and of course, many other bargain stops (but we can't reveal all our secrets)!

The Cipriani family has recently renovated the famous event space in the Toy Building in the Flat Iron District. Once dark and dowdy, this space has been retro-fitted to an elegant sheen. The decor is chic high art deco featuring silver mirrors and ebony black accents and lustrously dark wood floors. A pre-cocktail space flows into the main dining room which features a row of balconies ringing the space, reminiscent of an elegant 1930-supper club. Fred and Ginger "cheek to cheek" would not be out of place on the dance floor. Cipriani old world service and cuisine shines in this New York deco spectacular.

Nobu 57, or should we say NoBOO!, the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, opened to much anticipation in the summer of 2005. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new-style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Yellowtail with Jalapeņo and Black Cod with Miso, and new creations from the wood burning oven and the hibachi table. Designed by David Rockwell, Nobu 57 evokes the fluidity of an Asian river with graceful curves and abalone shell chandeliers, sliced bamboo stalks in terrazzo tiles, scorched ash tables and Japanese quilt fabric. Burnished woods, rich hues and soft lighting create an ambiance of elegance and refinement.

From the classic Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Alice Walker and the moving Spielberg film, comes a soul-stirring new musical and landmark Broadway event. The Color Purple is an inspiring family saga that tells the unforgettable story of a woman who, through love, finds the strength to triumph over adversity and discover her unique voice in the world. Oprah Winfrey, who was in the movie, has such great faith in the musical that she invested a million dollars and is now the producer. Set to a joyous score featuring jazz, ragtime, gospel and blues, The Color Purple opens at the Broadway Theatre on December 1, 2005.
