Re-gifted - The Intrepid returned to New York City this month after two years of renovation and restoration. Since its opening in 1982, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum has been host to countless visitors and numerous and varied events. The interior of the ship has been completely refurbished with new, modern exhibits and offers a clean, fresh look inside. Guests will have access to never before seen spaces and crew quarters, allowing a true perspective on what life was really like aboard the Intrepid. Along with the other vintage aircraft now returned to a refinished flight deck, the Concord sits along dockside, a serendipitous gift of supersonic flight.

A sweet gift is the icing on the cake at Magnolia’s Cupcakes. Their latest store just opened up on 6th Avenue at Rockefeller Center. A cupcake can change your life. Ever since Magnolia Bakery opened its doors in 1996, people have been lining up day and night to satisfy their sugar cravings -- patiently waiting in line at the old-fashioned yet funky bake shop to buy cupcakes, layer cakes, pudding, and ice cream, much to the surprise and delight of owner Allysa Torey. Everyone is always asking about the most popular cupcake at the bakery is. Most people are surprised that it is what they call the vanilla/vanilla - the vanilla cupcake with the vanilla icing (and the most popular color for the icing is pink).

An early Christmas gift is the Irving Berlin musical, White Christmas. The musical is a 42nd Street-style crowd-pleaser featuring hit songs (some written for the film) by composer-lyricist Berlin. His "Blue Skies" and "I Love a Piano" are lavish ensemble presentations, while "Count Your Blessings," "How Deep Is the Ocean" and "Love, You Didn't Do Right By Me" get intimate presentations. The musical "tells the story of two showbiz buddies who put on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn, and find their perfect mates in the bargain". Full of dancing, laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written, Irving Berlin's White Christmas promises to be a merry and bright theatrical experience on the Great White Way.
