Love is in the Air!

Cupid di Napoli:
|
Happy Valentine's Day! One thinks of Paris as the city for lovers but New York City is just as romantic! Think of F. Scott and Zelda, the Donald and Ivana et al, Liza and David, Tony and Gary!
What can be more romantic than a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset, exploring the quaint narrow lanes and waterfront of Greenwich Village, or bumping up against your new love on the subway during rush hour? The great musicals of Broadway sing of love from Tevye to Golda (Fiddler on the Roof), Tony and Maria (West Side Story), Edna and Wilbur (Hairspray). Restaurants toast love with Oysters Rockefeller, artesian chocolates and Junior's cheesecake! So yes, NYC is "Sex and the City", but it is also "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and where "Harry Met Sally!"

Neue Galerie is housed in a exquisite mansion on upper Fifth Avenue. Dedicated to German and Austrian art and design, with a particular focus on the early 20th century, the collection features works of Klimt, Kokoschka, Kandinsky, and Klee. The current Egon Schiele exhibit is a stimulating collection of the famous expressionist's erotic art. In the mansion is Cafe Sabarsky, modeled on a Viennese cafe where Freud would feel at home. The cafe has a "romantic atmosphere" for that certain liaison. But don't forget to bring your copy of Anna Karenina and wear a rose in your lapel.
