NYC Christmas: Off the Beaten Path    Your Briggs Team

"It's the most wonderful time of the year" as Andy Williams would say.  And some of the most wonderful sights and sounds are not just in midtown Manhattan. Every borough shines and gleams. The Bronx Zoo is open evenings with a light show and Santa's reindeer; the NY Botanical Garden has an elaborate train exhibit made of plants and flora. Residents of Brooklyn's Dyker Heights try to  outdo each other with spectacular displays on their lawns.  It gets so busy, police close down streets to handle the spectators. Grand Central Terminal has a fantastic kaleidoscopic laser extravaganza.  Down in Murray Hill,  Rolf's German Restaurant is so fantastically decorated it takes two entire months to get it ready!  The skating rink at Rock Center is crowded so why not skate in the heart of Central Park at either Wolman or Lasker rinks or at the man-made pond at Bryant Park. Check out the World's Largest Menorah across from The Plaza Hotel, the origami tree at the American Museum of Natural History and the Neapolitan crèche at the Met Museum. Did I mention the other famous tree in NYC at Lincoln Center Plaza decorated with musical instruments?
