   Rabbit Hole:     Introducing Our New Franchise:
April is named after the Latin word "aperio" meaning "open up" because it is the month when plants spring forth life after the winter. We are proud to announce the "opening up" of Briggs Inc. with franchise offices in London, Paris and Rome. Our new name of these locations will be BRA. (anagram for "Bringing Additional Revenues"). These franchises have no connection with Briggs. They just bought the name, will fly on our coattails, and send us money - Daddy needs a new pair of shoes. And as Candide sums up his wanderings, "Make your garden grow."

Spas are all the rage this year in NYC. More and more of these establishments are offering complete massages along with the usual manicures and pedicures. Even restaurants are getting into the act. At the Homestead Restaurant, they even massage the Kobe cow! It's rumored that the Russian Tea Room space will soon open as a fabulous Italian restaurant and that Mario Batali's new space will be renamed Felidia the Tattooed Lady. Stay del posted.

What to do with the male guests on a tour? Briggs can arrange a styling by Donald Trump's personal barber as well as a session with Anderson Cooper's hair colorist. When The Plaza re-opens, Trader Joes will serving up Mai Tai's at the old Trader Vic space and the old Persian Room will be renamed G.W.B's. The hotel will feature 600 condos with the 25 hotel sleeping rooms facing the historic Zelda Fitzgerald airshaft. The long awaited, new Hard Rock Hotel will offer in each room, a complimentary guitar to smash as well as I-Pods downloaded with the complete song lists of Barry Manilow and Olivia Newton-John (you may want to wait to smash the guitar after you listened to your I-Tunes).

The trend of screen to stage - stage to screen continues on Broadway. King Kong is being turned into Monkey Shine with John Travolta as the big ape. Brokeback Mountain The Musical has the cowboys yodeling: "Gone fishin'", "Climb Every Mountain", and "The Lonely Goatherd" - John Travolta plays Ennis. Now running up in Toronto is a four-hour musical version of The Lord of the Rings with John Travolta as Frodo singing the hit song "You're Getting to Be a Hobbit with Me". And in stage to screen, the movie version of Hairspray will star Queen Latifah as Motormouth Maybelle and John Travolta as Edna Turnblad.
